The Morgan County Commission Tuesday, June 6, affirmed the county meets the program requirements to receive Missouri Farmers Care Agri-Ready designation. This is a voluntary program of Missouri Farmers Care (MFC) that recognizes counties that actively support Missouri agricultural enterprise.
The commissioners certified Morgan County will abide by certain Missouri Farmers Care Agri-Ready guidelines and will immediately notify Missouri Farmers Care about any changes that would place the county in non-compliance with the program.
A dump truck was purchased by the county in late May. The 2001 Peterbuilt diesel was purchased at a cost of $65,000 from Martin Metal and will be use primarily in the Western District. According to the commission, it was not put out for bid because the price of the used vehicle was compared to 10 similar vehicles from various sources.
In other news, the final version of the Morgan County Employee Handbook was approved by the commission.
Progress is being made on a training room in the basement of the Morgan County Justice Center.
School bus routes in the county are slated to be maintained in June or July.
The next meeting of the Morgan County Commission is scheduled 10 a.m. Friday, June 16 at the courthouse in Versailles.
