A Stover area resident drowned Tuesday, Oct. 3 in Little Buffalo Cove, at the 67-mile mark of the main channel of the Lake of the Ozarks in Morgan County.
Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) Trooper S. D. Bledsoe responded 10:54 a.m. to a report of a body floating in the water.
Upon arrival, Bledsoe found Jerrold S. Wilson, 51, of Stover floating face-down between the dock and the shoreline.
Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene 12:10 p.m. by Morgan County Coroner M.B. “Doc” Jones. The body was taken to the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles.
This was the first drowning fatality in October and the 11th in 2017 for MSHP Troop F.
Bledsoe was assisted in his investigation by troopers C. A Finkemeier, A. A. Lindley, and A. M. Starnes, and by the personnel of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and Mid-Mo Ambulance.
