Rick Everhart, a long-time technology director and school bus driver at Morgan County R-I School in Stover, is no longer employed by the district.
During a closed meeting Tuesday, June 13 in the Stover school library, the MCR-I school board approved its separation agreement with Everhart.
Recently re-elected as a board member of the Co-Mo Electric Cooperative, Everhart was suspended from his school duties after leaving a seven-year-old child asleep on his bus after school Monday, May 15.
Following an additional incident Wednesday, May 17 on school grounds, Everhart was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and driving while intoxicated.
The school board hired William McCaully during a special meeting Wednesday, June 7 as the school’s technology director.
This month’s regular MCR-I school board meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. Monday, June 26 in the Stover school library.
