Our students just finished up their end-of-the-year NWEA (Northwest Education Association) benchmark test. Our district takes the End-Of-Year (EOY) benchmark assessments for NWEA in April each year for third through 10th grade to help us prepare for a final push before taking the state assessments in May. It gives us the opportunity to see our strengths and know where we need to focus attention before taking the MAP (Missouri Assessment Program).
Each year the students take the MAP and End Of Course (EOC) assessments in May for several content areas. These are assessments given once a year that track student achievement levels. It’s important to know our school has joined a consortium group focused on the possibility of implementing a growth-based model assessment option for Missouri. The group would like to see Missouri allow schools to track growth versus only tracking achievement levels.
The EOY NWEA benchmark assessment allows our district to track both achievement and growth of learning. See data noted below of how our third through 10th-grade students performed in April.
